Foot Massager

Choosing a decent foot massager can be quite confusing if you want to have a therapeutic massage. I used to rely on paying for foot massages on a by-weekly basis. I tried to get most of it covered by my insurance for health reasons but eventually that wasn't a possibility anymore. During that time, I became slightly addicted to getting foot massages and I had to find another way to relax myself after work.

You see, I work all day long and although I'm not exactly running marathons at work, sometimes it feels like I am. I work as a computer technician, repairing computers in businesses around Montreal. Even though you would imagine that I am sitting on a chair for most of the day, it couldn't be further from the truth. I think its the fact that I get to sit for a few minutes at a time that makes it worse. Sit down, stand up, sit down, stand up, etc.

Finding a worthwhile substitute for my massage therapist was a tough adventure. At first, I thought that I could just go with the least expensive foot massager and it would do the trick. Boy was I wrong! The first massager I purchased was more like a vibrating box.

After that failed attempt to find a decent foot massager, I decided to read up a little bit on massages at Wikipedia to learn more about what elements are required for a good foot massage. I wanted to know the science behind it.
I found that a good machine would have to apply some sort of physical force in order to be effective. Just vibrating didn't push on the tactile points strong enough. So then I found another foot massager site that pretty much confirmed everything I was thinking.

I needed something bigger, something that would soothe my pain once and for all. I really didn't like the idea of using a water powered massager, and I heard that they didn't do very much except for feeling good. So I followed the recommendation of the other page and got the big foot massager illustrated here. I was hesitant because I thought it looked bulky, but I was SO SURPRISED when I got my first massage from that machine. It felt GREAT. I honestly didn't know a machine was capable of producing such a soothing feeling. After my other purchase, I was hesitant to purchase another but I'm really glad I did.

To be honest, I still prefer the human touch, but this comes just about as close as humanly possible! I bought it from Amazon for $267 but I think the price on that foot massager went down since then.
